Founded in 1963 as the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy (ICM) \u2013 Plovdiv.
The main mission of the institute was focused on scientific research and technical development in the extraction and processing of non-ferrous metals.
The key fields of work at the time included: physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and structural analysis.
The institute\u2019s design department aimed to bring the institute\u2019s developments to fully functional projects and to support their successful implementation in factories across the country.<\/p>\n
